In the 1990s, the Stanford University Trustees adopted the Stanford Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that was intended to fully renovate every residence on campus. In the fall of 2002, Stanford advised Sigma Chi’s Alpha Omega House Corporation (AOHC) that the house would have to meet all requirements of Stanford's CIP, or potentially be considered in breach of our lease and at risk of losing the house.
