Now is the time for Kansas State University Pi Beta Phi chapter to make long-needed updates and changes to their facility. The Kansas Beta Chapter House Corporation (CHC) and undergraduate leadership developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Pi Phi experience at Kansas State University. Through careful study, assessment and planning, it has been determined that updates to and an expansion of the chapter house are necessary through a capital fundraising campaign. Working with architect Bruce McMillan, AIA, based in Manhattan, CHC has developed a strategic approach to update the facility. Changes include modernization of the facility and construction of a three-story addition.

Three-story addition (830 sq. ft. per level) on the west side of the house to include:

Unfinished basement storage for officer supplies, recruitment decorations, initiation supplies and luggage

Dining room addition

Second and third floor, eight-girl educational suites (study and group space, sleeping space and dressing areas)

Increased educational spaces dedicated to individual and group study, including a reconfiguration of the basement chapter room into a group meeting and study area

Addition of ADA-compliant bathroom on main floor and outside entry ramp

New HVAC system throughout

New living room, foyer and dining room flooring

Reconfiguration of food/buffet service area

Redecoration of dining room

New desks, doors and closet doors in all individual bedrooms and suites

Remodeling of second floor “short hall suite” with new desks and study area furnishings
