The Beta Chapter House Corporation of Phi Kappa Tau at Ohio University has partnered with Hoon Inc. and BDT Architects and Interior Designers in Athens, Ohio, to develop a solid plan and construction estimate to meet the fraternity’s immediate needs and address the long-term viability of the chapter house. In all areas, the architect has been instructed to be mindful of budget constraints as well as mandatory building and fire code requirements. In addition, they placed a special emphasis on the use of practical and durable building materials, finishes, and fixtures to withstand high-volume use over a number of years. Thanks to a successful capital fundraising campaign, the following improvements were made.
Renovation Highlights:
-
Fire Protection System – Address mandatory life-safety issues with sprinklers, fire-rated doors, and full compliance with code specifications.
