A solid plan is in place to address the long-term viability of the Kappa Alpha Theta experience on Northwestern University’s campus. Working on a capital fundraising campaign with the director of Greek Life, NU’s facilities department, chapter members, advisors, and alumnae, the Tau Association of Kappa Alpha Theta has developed a strategic approach to our future.
Plan Highlights:

Added study tables and electrical outlets throughout first floor

Replaced carpeting in the living room, study room, and trophy room

Repainted interior walls

Installed new furnishings and artwork for entire main floor living area

Updated furnishings in the landing lounge

ADA-compliant L-shaped ramp with handrails and heated panels

ADA-compliant chair lift

Renovate guest suite to comply with ADA specifications

Replace hardwood floors in the entry area, guest suite and facility director’s suite

Replace furniture, mattresses and carpeting in 27 bedrooms

Renovations to all bathrooms, including the first floor powder room and upstairs community bathrooms

Update facility director suite

Repaint laundry room and replace tiling and shelving

Replace side exterior door and weather-stripping and add an awning to the side door

Replace dishwasher and ovens

Conduct boiler system maintenance
