Since 1845, the Pi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi has been an important part of Indiana University and the Bloomington community. To remain a viable partner in the development of young men today, an ambitious fraternity capital campaign, with a goal to raise $4.3 million, was essential for reconstruction of the chapter house. Through heavy fraternity engagement and fraternity communications, the fraternity capital campaign made the following improvements:
-
Renovated facade with Indiana limestone, half-timber stucco accents, and a new Tudor slate roof
-
A new Great Hall, front entry, and entrance tower
-
A fully restored bronze lantern originally installed at the previous residence in 1928
-
Expanded study space, technology upgrades, and a more competitive chapter house to attract quality men
-
Adherence to fire codes and mandatory safety requirements
